I have been involved in media since I was 15, starting as a volunteer radio presenter at my local hospital radio. At university I was involved in student media for all three years of being student, primarily as the Editor-in-Chief of The King's Tab but also as a radio host at KCL Radio for two separate shows. As Editor-in-Chief of The King's Tab, I wrote over 40 articles and edited over 100, developing a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of newsworthiness. I began with only three other editors and no writers as The King's Tab was on a hiatus, but raised this number to six total editors and 40+ writers as well as launching a TikTok account. While studying towards my NCTJ qualification at News Associates I have worked for both the Londoners and UKTN covering local news and tech news respectively. I started my time at UKTN with no knowledge of the tech field at all, but finished my time there with a variety of analytical articles and even a stock prediction for the new year. My personal interests in journalism are focused more around the entertainment world, and specifically music. I have always been a major fan of music and cannot go a few hours without listening to it, staying on top of new releases and attending as many concerts as my bank account will let me. I began a music Tiktok called blondtakes where I posted regular album reviews and music related content.
