Biography

I am Abdulrasheed Akere, a member of PEN PRESS UDUS. I have been a campus journalist since 2020 — about three years ago. In January 2023, I bagged PEN PRESS Reporter of the year, also awarded as the Essayist of the year of National Association of Campus Journalists, or NACJ, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) chapter. I was shortlisted as number six of the Gamji prime writing contest. Recently, I emerged as the overall winner of the March 2023 edition of Writer's Fest writing contest. Across my years in the field, I have written bevy Op-ed articles, reports, and feature stories. My works which have appeared on The Nation (Nigeria), Campus Reporter, TheCable, Ripples Nigeria, The Informant247, The NewsDigest, Qwenu, Edutorial, Harbinger, Observersmag, The Renata, and elsewhere.
