Abdulrasheed Hammad is a prospective lawyer and an award-winning investigative journalist with over six years of experience. He is an avid reader and a passionate writer whose work has appeared in leading publications such as University World News, Minority Africa, the International Center for Investigative Reporting (ICIR), The Cable, The Nation Nigeria, Health Policy Watch, HumAngle, UDEME (CJID), Daily Trust, Dataphyte, Ripples Nigeria, and the Media Career Development Network. He works as a freelance journalist for ICIR, University World News, The Cable, Ripples Nigeria, and Dataphyte. He was a fellow of the Open Contract Reporting Project (2022–2024) and the Promoting Democratic Governance in Nigeria Fellowship, where he promotes transparency, accountability, and democratic governance through data-driven, impactful reporting. He is also a fellow of the Frontline Investigative Journalism Program by Orodata Science, where he reports on primary healthcare using collated data to produce evidence-based stories. In 2023, Abdulrasheed was a fellow of the Name of Religion Fellowship by the International Centre for Journalists (ICFJ) in collaboration with Code for Africa. Abdulrasheed won silver in the online category of the 2023 PAJI Africa Investigative Journalism Award in Senegal and emerged as the overall winner in the online category of the 2024 Africa Media Foundation Journalism Award. His reporting focuses on health, education, climate change, accountability, data journalism, solutions journalism, fact-checking, and investigative journalism.
