Biography

Abimbola Abatta is an investigative journalist and poet residing in Lagos State, Nigeria. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Literary Studies from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State. Abimbola is passionate about development journalism and enjoys telling stories that draw attention to human rights issues, gender-based violence, social injustice, marginalisation and abuse of power, among others. She was a 2021/2022 fellow at the African Liberty Writing Fellowship. She is currently a journalist at the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), where she is fulfilling her dream of using words to inspire change.
