Biography

Alex is a freelance writer and photographer based in Savannah, Georgia. She writes about (sometimes unexpected) millennial occupations (i.e. fly fishing, falconry, fancy axes and of course travel influencing), apocalyptic anxiety (from knitting to Georgia O'Keeffe's nuclear fallout shelter to everything that's happening in Kingston, NY), history repeating itself (see: Atlas Obscura, Smithsonian Magazine and Topic). Find her writing in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Washington Post, The Nation and elsewhere. She is a senior editor at Catskills-based lifestyle magazine DVEIGHT and at Bisnow, and managing editor Being Patient. She has been a regular contributor to Vanity Fair's the Daily and the Huffington Post, a daily blogger for GOOD, and a staff film reviewer for Cinespect. She co-founded the arts and healthcare nonprofit O+ Festival.
