Biography

Alexandra Sharp is the writer of Foreign Policy’s flagship daily newsletter, World Brief. Prior to joining FP, where she started as a deputy copy editor, Alexandra launched a podcast series and conducted threat analysis for Genocide Watch, covered higher education at the Columbia Missourian, and oversaw the city life section at Vox Magazine. Her work has appeared in Washington Monthly as well as on the BBC, CBS, and American Prestige. She has reported in Costa Rica on climate change, immigration, and energy, and was awarded the Aspen Ideas Ifill Fellowship in 2023 and the Penn Kemble Fellowship in 2024. A Chicago native, Alexandra studied magazine journalism and international studies at the University of Missouri.
