Biography

Alice Moreno is a Colombian-American photojournalist based in New York City. Born and raised in Miami, she grew up with storytellers: her father, a former journalist during the tumultuous times of 1990s Colombia, and her mother, who told stories from her childhood growing up in a small village. Moreno became intrigued with people’s backgrounds, interested in their history and longing to hear more. She graduated from Fordham University in August 2023, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Previously, she attended Miami Dade College, graduating in 2021 with an Associate of Arts degree in Journalism. She is a freelancer; her roles include photographing for the Long Island Herald, reporting for the Queens Ledger, and working as a Snap Photographer for the New York Mets. During her college years, she held editorial positions, such as Multimedia Editor of the Fordham College at Lincoln Center student newspaper The Observer, and Photo Editor of the Miami Dade College student newspaper The Reporter. Her work has been exhibited in person at Cardinal Labs in Miami, The New School in Manhattan, and online at Decagon Gallery based in Brooklyn. In 2022, Moreno won 1st place in the feature photo category and 3rd place in the picture story category at the Florida College System Publications Association awards ceremony. Outside her work, Moreno enjoys collecting trinkets, playing video games, and indulging in fashion trends.
