Biography

Amira McKee is journalist and student at Columbia College studying sociology and creative writing. She was born and raised somewhere between Missouri, New York, and Montana, and accordingly, shamelessly sprinkles “y’all” into every conversation. When she’s not sitting down with local leaders or campaigning against overhead lighting, she can be found spending her work study on coffee at Hungarian Pastry Shop. She currently serves as a City News Editor at the Columbia Daily Spectator and an intern at NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt. She previously interned at ABCNY and at the Bronx Times.
