Solutions Journalism Network

The Solutions Journalism Network (SJN) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2013 by journalists David Bornstein, Tina Rosenberg, and Courtney Martin. SJN is dedicated to transforming journalism by focusing on rigorous reporting about responses to social issues. Their mission is to ensure that everyone has access to news that helps envision and build a more equitable and sustainable world. SJN engages with news organizations, journalists, and educators to promote solutions journalism. They offer workshops and training programs to help participants develop skills for effective reporting on social problems. Additionally, SJN provides newsletters, toolkits, and guides to support journalists in their work. The organization also encourages community engagement and collaboration through cohorts and fellowships. With a network of over 170 newsrooms and thousands of journalists, SJN aims to increase the representation of historically marginalized communities in journalism.
