World Aquatics, formerly known as FINA, is the global governing body for aquatic sports, recognized by the International Olympic Committee. Established in 1908 and based in Lausanne, Switzerland, it oversees six disciplines: swimming, diving, high diving, artistic swimming, water polo, and open water swimming. The organization also manages Masters competitions for adult athletes. World Aquatics organizes global events, including Olympic-qualifying tournaments and World Championships.
