Anita Chepkoech, a Kenyan journalist, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Technology from Maseno University. Her career objective is to utilize a blend of her professionalism, uniqueness and creativity to take her journalism career to greater heights of success. Anita works as a correspondent at Nation Media Group (NMG), Kisumu, Kenya. Her duty at Nation is to identify and collect information and package it accordingly, by writing, into news and/ or feature stories for various NMG platforms which include Daily Nation, Business Daily and Taifa Leo. This is her first job after graduation although she used to be a casual contributor for two years to the Kass Weekly, a publication of the Kass Media Group. She also produced and hosted the Health and Nutrition show on Kass TV before she joined NMG. Her experience has enabled her to competently source and write stories in various fields and majorly in business, agriculture, health and education sectors. She has had several news and feature stories published in various NMG platforms which initiate debates that lead to positive transformation of the country. She has had many career lessons and great achievements at NMG with the latest being an Annual Journalism Excellence Awards 2016 that she won under the Development Reporting Category for writing an agricultural feature. She was also nominated the best team player in Kisumu regional office in 2014. She is a self-driven journalist who believes in professionalism; always taking care to remain objective, accurate and fair. She now looks forward to undertaking her Master of Arts degree in journalism.
