Biography

Anotida Chikumbu is an opinion columnist for South Africa’s Maverick Citizen, a section of the Daily Maverick. He usually writes about presidential leadership, elections, poverty, unemployment, capital flight, the informal economy, and other problems affecting Southern Africa and other developing countries. His work is sometimes featured by other international news outlets including, Microsoft News MSN, All Africa News, and the Mail and Guardian. He is also the studio host of the BOOK SERIES, an academic dialoguing program on the air. He has interviewed over 200 academics, government leaders, and international newsmakers whose published works focus on world history. Some episodes of the series have been published in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania’s Population Studies Center, the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI), The National WWII Museum’s Jenny Craig Institute for the Study of War and Democracy (New Orleans), the World Bank Research Group, the University of Warwick, and Loyola University Maryland.
