Latrobe Bulletin

The Latrobe Bulletin has been proudly bringing the news to the citizens of Latrobe and surrounding communities of Derry, Ligonier and Blairsville for over 121 years. In all of those years we have never missed a day of publication. That's well over 35,000 issues. We filled those pages with both good news and bad. We have covered crime, war, tragedies and deaths. But we also shared the births, weddings and celebrations of our communities. We strive to maintain our local connection. Writing stories about our children's successes in school, both academically and athletically has been a big part of our coverage. Finding features on all the good things our neighbors are doing is also an important part of our coverage. After all it is "Our Community, Your Newspaper." We exist because you, the readers, choose to stay informed about your communities. And for over 121 years we have been at the municipal meetings where our governments govern. We report on the decisions of our councils and school boards and commissions that affect the day to day lives of the citizens, our readers. This is our service to you; our aid to democracy at the local level. We have learned to adapt to the times and embrace what the digital era has to offer. In 2015, we launched our first website. In the four years since, we learned what worked and what did not in that format. In 2018, we took over 400 rolls of microfilm, the history of our printed pages, and made them digital and searchable in our Historical Archives found here: www.latrobebulletinnews.newspapers.com. Now we have launched a brand new interactive, user-friendly website that we hope will become part of your daily online experience.
