April Joyner has covered business and technology for more than 15 years. She was previously was a venture capital and startups correspondent at Insider and a markets correspondent at Reuters. April completed the Columbia Publishing Course in 2007 and began her full-time journalism career at Inc. magazine, where she was a member of the staff recognized with a 2012 National Magazine Award for General Excellence. She has also contributed to the websites of Fast Company, Marie Claire, and The New Yorker. A proud native of Norfolk, Virginia, April enjoys playing the violin and making greeting cards in her spare time.
