I took a buyout package in 2011 from Sun Media (now PostMedia), Canada's largest newspaper chain, after 30 years in the journalistic mosh pit. Titles at five newspapers: Managing editor, city editor, sports editor, editorial page editor and editorial writer. Timmins Daily Press, Belleville Intelligencer, Trenton Trentonian, Cobourg Daily Star, Port Hope Evening Guide. Trinkets gathered along the way: Canadian Press editorial of the year, CP award for humour writing, two Ontario Newspaper Awards for health reporting. For the past four years I have served as the Canadian news correspondent for Anadolu Agency, the official news agency of Turkey. As well, I am a contributor to InsideOver, an Italian website in English. I also pen a column for a couple of local newspapers. Some publications where my stories appear: Anadolu Agency, InsideOver, Al Bawaba, The Peninsula Qatar, The Muslim News, Trentonian, Belleville/Quinte Region Community Press. I am in Trenton, Ontario, Canada but Mud Rack does not recognize the city, so I used Toronto. I am actually located about 100 km east of Toronto.
