Benjamin Epstein was editor in chief for the California Media Group for 25 years and prior to that wrote arts, dining and style features and columns for the Los Angeles Times. He has a master’s degree in piano performance from USC. He’s been on a reindeer safari in Lapland, saved a baby orangutan in Borneo, gone black-water rafting in New Zealand and climbed the Matterhorn in Switzerland. He continues to hike and climb between writing about dining in Orange County.
