Biography
Brian Saady is a politically-independent author who has a heavy focus on political corruption, crony capitalism, human rights, and civil liberties. He is also a freelance writer. His work has been published in The Palm Beach Post, The American Conservative, CounterPunch, among several others. Brian Saady is the author of a three-book series, Rackets. It is about the legalization of drugs & gambling, and the decriminalization of prostitution. These are obviously taboo topics, but the book series focuses on the underlying corruption, hypocrisy, and abuses of power associated with criminalizing these three vices. This book series points to these three issues as a microcosm of far greater systemic problems with criminal justice and politics. It shines a spotlight on crony capitalists and government “racketeers,” i.e. bureaucracies, which operate similarly to organized criminals by posing as the solution to problems caused by the government. In the end, readers should agree that our political and criminal justice systems are, in many ways, inadvertently designed to fail...like rackets. Brian Saady has written several articles that are related to these three vices, but his work is not limited to those topics. For example, he has written in-depth about the revolving door between Washington D.C. and the corporate lobbying industry. In fact, much like his books, Brian's articles tend to touch upon an array of political issues. He also started a podcast, Rackets, which focuses on various forms of organized crime, i.e. the mafia and drug cartels. His podcast also focuses heavily on white-collar racketeers such as corporate criminals, corrupt politicians, lobbyists, wasteful government projects, etc.
