GateHouse Media New England Director of MultiMedia, MetroWest Daily News and Milford Daily News January 2018 – Present I oversee the six journalists who work for the MetroWest Daily News, which covers 20 communities and the three journalists for the Milford Daily News, which covers the seven community. I am responsible for the management of the two websites and the associated social media accounts. I am responsible for creating digital layers to enhance the mobile and online delivery of news, utilizing tools such as Timeline from KnightLab, interactive data visualizations from Tableau Public and products from Google Labs, as well as the more traditional tools. I also create online-only content, such as those illustrating statewide election results. I analyze the analytics from our websites. I work to develop and implement action plans for special projects, for long-term growth, and for solid day-to-day journalism. I also serve as the producer for the weekly sports podcast “Cassell’s Corner,” and gather interviews for other podcasts or for audio-on-demand. The job includes many of the legacy responsibilities of a managing editor including editing stories and helping reporters with story development and editing stories.
