The Los Angeles Chargers are a professional American football team based in the Greater Los Angeles area. Established in 1959, the team initially played in Los Angeles before moving to San Diego in 1961 and returning to Los Angeles in 2017. They compete in the NFL as part of the American Football Conference (AFC) West division and play their home games at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The Chargers have a rich history, being one of the original members of the American Football League (AFL) and joining the NFL after the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. They have won several division championships and appeared in one Super Bowl in 1995. The team is owned by Dean Spanos and Tom Gores, with A. G. Spanos serving as president and Jim Harbaugh as head coach. The Chargers provide entertainment through their games, merchandise, and community outreach programs, engaging with a large fan base and various brand partnerships.
