I'm a Silver Spring, Maryland-based freelance writer focusing on nature, the environment, the great outdoors, books, and travel. Early in my career, I was the managing editor of Atlanta's bilingual newspaper, Mundo Hispanico and freelanced for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Creative Loafing, Biography, Entrepreneur, and Hispanic Business, before transitioning to work as a communications director for environmental non-profits – first for the Georgia office for The Trust for Public Land and later in the national office of The Wilderness Society in Washington, D.C. A decade ago, I began writing again for a number of publications, including American Legion, Salon, Fine Books & Collections, Maryland Life, The Washington Independent Review of Books, EcoLit Books, and Rewilding. I have a journalism degree from the University of Georgia.
