In 2007, ADVANTAGES Digital Learning Solutions was founded by a small group of teachers and educators that wanted to develop a simple solution to offer kids everywhere, access to great academic content, regardless of their zip code. Our simple beginning consisted of weekly meetings in a coffee shop with free WiFi and decent lattes, where we began to build our own online school and digital platform allowing our vision to take shape. Starting with the enrollment of a few displaced students that had nowhere else to go, we saw proof that kids could, and would, achieve success with our newly developed alternative to traditional school programming. With determination, sacrifice and enormous support from our families, our program was born. We left our salaried positions with the districts and universities we worked with in order to devote our time to our new business. Initially, we wanted to affect change in our own community, but we quickly learned that our reach could expand the globe, taking us across all 50 states in the US, and into more than 30 countries to date.
