Dave Lieber is a columnist that helps people. His investigative column, The Watchdog, appears Fridays and Sundays in Texas' best newspaper, The Dallas Morning News. Before that, he wrote a Fort Worth Star-Telegram metro column for 20 years. He trained at The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he was a staff writer for a decade. He is the founder and secretary of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists Education Foundation, which awards scholarships to top college columnists. He served as advisor to the award-winning student newspaper at Westlake Academy, called The Black Cow. Dave is leader of Watchdog Nation®, a consumer rights movement spreading across America. Dave is recognized as America's first regular video columnist on the Internet. He began the experimental venture in 1997 at star-telegram.com, then called StarText.net. He has a strong background as a volunteer. He is co-founder of one of North Texas' largest children's charities, Summer Santa, which serves thousands of children each year through a volunteer service that has no office or paid staff. His work for Summer Santa earned him the Will Rogers Humanitarian Award. This honor goes to the U.S. newspaper columnist whose work produced positive effects on the lives of readers. He is the author of nine books. In addition to his popular The Dog of My Nightmares: Stories by Texas Columnist Dave Lieber, he has written AMON! The Ultimate Texan (play and book) and his latest, the first biography of Ross Perot in 25 years. Released in September 2021, it's called SEARCHING FOR PEROT - My Journey to Discover Texas' Top Family.
