The Bangor Daily News (BDN) is a daily newspaper based in Bangor, Maine, with a history dating back to its founding on June 18, 1889. It is published by Bangor Publishing Company, a family-owned business that has been in the Towle-Warren family for four generations. As of 2018, it is the only independently owned daily newspaper in Maine. The BDN publishes six days a week, providing comprehensive coverage of central and eastern Maine, as well as additional areas through its regional bureaus in Augusta, Belfast, Ellsworth, and Portland. In addition to its print publication, the newspaper offers digital content that includes news, features, and opinion pieces.
