He wrote the multiple award-winning “Affordable Caribbean” column for Caribbean Travel & Life for 14 years, and he is author or co-author of 17 different travel guidebooks. David is also an expert on cruises, and has traveled with all of the top industry brands and some of the lesser-known boutique lines. The MICE industry is another focus for his reporting, and since the start of the pandemic he has written on how destinations, cruises, hotels and the conference sectors are working to come out the other side successfully. David was chosen by the Caribbean Tourism Organization as Travel Writer of the Year in 2007. He is the winner of multiple Muster awards for his photography, including Gold for his 2017 single-subject portfolio. David co-chaired the Society of American Travel Writers' New Zealand convention in 2011, was chair of the tours component for the organization's 2015 Las Vegas convention.
