Biography
Dawn is a rare disease (LEMS) and multiple autoimmune disease patient with experience in the pharmaceutical industry not only as a sales representative prior to her diagnosis; but also as a rare disease patient advocate and marketing research recruiter. Dawn’s childhood as an orphan raised in foster care filled with trauma was, she believes, the preceptor to her life battling multiple autoimmune diseases. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE Scores) have been proven to predict adult onset disease and Dawn scores very high on a test that no one wants to pass. Her most recent battle has arisen from a concussion suffered in March of 2020. It has slowed down her writing but she was determined to come back with her stories of overcoming numerous battles and motivating others to live their best lives no matter how dire the circumstances. After a 2 year pause in writing to concentrate on healing from her severe concussion, Dawn is launching a new column, IG & Me, in September's issue of IG Living magazine. Dawn will be sharing her experiences as an immune globulin patient for others to be able to benefit from the "liquid gold" that has given Dawn her life back as a rare autoimmune disease patient. Dawn has been published many times in The Bangor Daily News, The Lambert Eaton News, Yahoo News and The Mighty. Currently Dawn is working on her memoir as a rare disease patient and advocate. She is looking for an agent at this time.
