Biography
Dejan Kovacevic is a veteran of a quarter-century with Pittsburgh's two major newspapers who in 2014 broke ground by creating his own subscription site, DKPittsburghSports.com, one that pioneered an independent approach to sports reporting and influenced the launch of similar ventures across North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He previously spent three years as lead sports columnist at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, covering the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, Pitt and more. Before that, he spent 12 years on the Penguins and Pirates beats with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He also has covered five Olympics: Athens, Vancouver, London, Sochi and Rio de Janeiro. In February 2012, he was named one of the top five columnists in the country by the Associated Press Sports Editors. He was honored with the same distinction the following year by the National Headliners. Born in 1966 in Downtown Pittsburgh, he attended Gateway High School and Duquesne University, where he majored in journalism.
