Biography

I am a practicing award winning journalist and spent almost all my professional life working in communications, multimedia journalism, and more recently in digital communications and journalism. I have an MA degree in Communications from the Department of Television, Film and Media Studies from the California State University in Los Angeles with a specialty in digital and data driven journalism. While I started off my career in journalism and communication in print publications, I moved on to different platforms in both fields as they became available. My transition from traditional print media to newer platforms, such as web editing and writing, multimedia journalism, and, more recently, harnessing the potential of AI tools in the industry highlights my constant pursuit of emerging movements in communication and production as they arise. In my current position as Chief Creative Officer of LA based Prequel Enterprise, I oversee responsible leveraging of AI tools to yield marketing, branding and multimedia products for startups in the United States, Australia and the MENA region. This is additional to my major role in securing and expanding the company's brand positioning and client base. At my former job as multimedia producer with the Middle East Broadcasting Networks I sought out and and single handedly produced US focused audio and video content for use on MBN platforms. The content focused on stories of America’s intricate and diverse ethnic groups, cultures, languages, political parties, careers, institutions and more. More specifically, I edited video, film content, and write news scripts for digital platforms. My former job in journalism at ABC News allowed me to cover breaking news and feature stories for various ABC News platforms including ABCNews.com, Good Morning America, Nightline, and World News with Diane Sawyer and with David Muir. Working in ABC’s newsroom in Los Angeles gave me essential assignment, editorial, and crew coordination skills while covering news in our coverage areas. With my additional training experience with Al Jazeera Arabic, I am profoundly familiar with journalism, news creation and production, and inhouse newsroom operations. In addition to my professional and educational background, I am of Lebanese descent, and grew up mainly in Lebanon. Like many Lebanese, I grew up speaking, reading and writing in Arabic, and speaking, reading, writing and later working in English.
