A background in cardiology sparked her interest in health education, modifiable risk, realistic medicine and palliative care. With a lifelong love of the written word she cut back on nursing to pursue a career in medical communications. She gained her professional registration and BSc (Hons) in Practice Development at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle Upon Tyne and is currently working towards an MA in History of Medicine at Newcastle University.
