Anchorage Daily News

The Anchorage Daily News (ADN) is Alaska’s largest daily newspaper, founded in 1946. Originally launched as the weekly Anchorage News, it became a daily publication in 1948 and transitioned to a morning newspaper in 1964. Headquartered in Anchorage, ADN serves Southcentral Alaska, reaching approximately 68% of residents daily and 73% on Sundays, with a circulation of around 57,622 daily and 71,233 Sunday copies. ADN covers local, state, and Arctic-region news, focusing on investigative journalism and community reporting. It operates digital platforms, including adn.com for breaking news and multimedia content, and Alaska.com, which provides tourism-related information. The newspaper has also established rural bureaus and enhanced its Arctic coverage by hiring specialized reporters. Under the leadership of Ryan Binkley since 2017, ADN has emphasized digital transformation while maintaining its print legacy, continuing to play a significant role in Alaska's media landscape.
