Biography

Ellie is the Media Manager at the Queensland Conservation Council (QCC), leading the organisation’s media and external communications strategy to help advance the protection of Queensland’s natural environment and climate. A strong storytelling and communication expert, Ellie has 13 years experience in journalism and content across digital, broadcast and print, including media spokesperson experience for a national publication where her expert commentary was featured in publications such as Yahoo Finance and the Herald Sun. Ellie’s role at QCC is her first official role in the environment sector after years volunteering in the conservation space in Queensland, where she found a particular passion for helping community groups gain media traction in the lead up to elections as story strategy expert for the Australian Conservation Foundation. Prior to joining the environment movement, Ellie was a journalist and editor covering finance at organisations including Canstar and News.com.au, lifestyle reporter at The Urban List, The Courier Mail and The Sunshine Coast Daily, as well as radio presenter at 4ZZZ. Her work has been regularly referenced by other publishers, including Business Insider, The Motley Fool and The New Daily. Ellie studied a Bachelor of Journalism and Arts (Peace and Conflict Studies) at the University of Queensland.
