Biography
Em Chan is a freelancer for the Portland metropolitan area. She is the former food and dining reporter for the Salem Statesman Journal, where she also contributed to the Eugene Register-Guard. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon, with her B.A. in public relations and advertising with honors. Chan has dabbled in public relations, copywriting and journalism throughout her college career, finally settling on food writing. Her journalism career was mostly supported by her involvement in the Daily Emerald as the food writer and relationship advice columnist who sometimes wrote about Internet and other cultural happenings. Additionally, she has contributed to Eugene Weekly for their Chow edition and other editions.
