Biography

With over a decade in the media industry, Emmanuel Daraloye has seamlessly transversed Nigeria print and broadcast media. He wrote his first article in 2010, two years later, he started sharing his articles on Facebook and other mediums. In his first year (2015) at the University, he co-founded an online Newspaper which revolutionized information dissemination within the campus. Between year 2015 to 2019, he presented, co-presented programme on Arbico FM, Eki 100.9 FM (Ondo town) and King Sunny Ade Owned Music and Culture Radio, M&C, 106.5 FM (Ondo town). Since 2020, Emmanuel Daraloye has been fully documenting Afrobeats story via album reviews, interviews and articles. At the last count, he has written more than 1,000 album reviews. He's Africa’s Most Prolific Freelance Music Critic. Between June to July 2020, he was the music editor for MusicNolly. His Op-ed, comments, and views have appeared/ featured in Sahara Reporters, Cable News, Guardian Newspaper, Punch Newspaper, Tribune Newspaper, Legit, Modern Ghana, The Lagos Review, Vanguard Newspaper, Not Just Ok, and many more. He has been featured as a guest to speak about music related issues on Television Stations like Ondo State Radiovision Corporation, OSRC (Akure), Western Nigeria TV (Osogbo) Kaftan TV (Ondo town) Radio Stations like Suncity, 101.9 FM, Ondo Town, Eki 100. 9 FM, Ondo Town, Empire radio, 104.5fm, Akure, News Cruse, 92.7 FM, Ikere-Ekiti, Fresh Fm, Ado Ekiti, Midas Radio 90.5FM, Ado Ekiti, Brave 91.1 FM, Ogbomoso, Jamz 101.1 FM, Ibadan, Blast 98.3 FM, Ibadan, Agidigbo 88.7 FM, Ibadan, Rédíò Afínjú, Osogbo, Adamimigo 105.1 FM, Ibadan, 32 FM Ibadan and more. Between 2023/2024, Emmanuel Daraloye observed his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) with Tribune Newspaper, Ibadan. His opinion on music related issues have been sought by Punch Newspaper, Dubawa and Legit News. He has consulted, rendered service to top Politicians, Businessmen, Actors , Actress, Artistes, Religious Leaders, Captain of industry and more. In November 2024, he delivered a lecture during an University of Ibadan based media platform “Indy Press,” annual lecture series. In March 2025, he partnered with the University of Ibadan based new platform “Indy Press,” to organize an internship on Music Criticism. At the end of the exercise which ended on March 31, 2025, participants were awarded certificates. He is currently writing Afrobeats Best 1,000 albums.
