National Society of Black Engineers

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is a non-profit organization focused on increasing the number of Black engineers who excel academically and professionally. Founded in 1975 at Purdue University, NSBE has grown to over 31,000 members and hundreds of chapters worldwide. Its mission includes promoting engineering opportunities for minorities and serving as a representative body for Black engineers. NSBE offers various services and programs, including academic excellence initiatives like scholarships and mentorship, leadership training, and professional development opportunities such as job fairs and networking events. The organization also publishes several magazines that provide insights into engineering careers and industry trends. Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, NSBE is structured into six geographic regions, each contributing to regional conferences and the annual national convention.
