Biography

Eric Weddle is an education reporter with WFYI Public Media. Since 2009 he’s reported on K-12 and higher education issues in Indiana. In 2014 he won the Indiana Associated Press Managing Editors' best overall state news writing award as part of a reporting team for a multi-part investigation about Indiana's day care system. He was also a recipient of the APME's 2013 first place award for deadline reporting about the selection of Mitch Daniels as Purdue University president. In 2010 he covered the Nobel Prize in Stockholm, Sweden for state newspapers. Since 1999 Weddle has worked for newspapers and weeklies in Indiana and North Carolina, including The Indianapolis Star, Lafayette Journal & Courier and The Independent. He has been published in national magazines, such as The New Yorker and Punk Planet.
