Biography
As a freelance reporter and writer, I have been producing content for media outlets, nonprofit organizations, and private companies since 2008. It's what I do and what I love. My focus is consumer finance, including (but certainly not exclusive to) money, banking, credit, small business, lifestyle, travel, and fintech. I produce everything from long-form journalism stories, advice columns, informational pieces, blogs, reviews, landing pages, and SEO content. Prior to starting my own business, I was with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of San Francisco for over 10 years. There I worked with individuals and families to help them with their budgets and debt concerns, then transitioned into marketing where I was the media relations lead. I absolutely loved working with news outlets because I am so passionate about conveying information - clearly and succinctly. When I became pregnant I realized that there was no book about personal finance for young families. So I wrote it. Expecting Money: The Essential Financial Plan for New and Growing Families (Kaplan Press) was is a hit. Soon after it was published, I launched my own company – Sandberg Financial Education Services. Since then, my book has been re-released, I hosted a couple of podcasts as well as my own TV show on KRON: Making it in San Francisco. I've been spokesperson and brand ambassador for top-tier firms (Chase, Western Union, Assurant Solutions, among many others). But perhaps most importantly, I write. A lot.
