Biography
Benn wrote his first front-page newspaper story at age 12, as an intern at his hometown paper, The York (Pa.) Dispatch/Sunday News. He graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 2004. Benn worked for five years as a Metro reporter at The Miami Herald, covering cops, hurricanes and other breaking news. In 2009 he joined the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as a features writer and editor. He soon picked up the beer beat and in 2012 became the paper's food critic. Benn rejoined The Miami Herald in April 2013 as a Staff Writer.
