Biography
Faiz Muhammad Paracha is a broadcast journalist and a communications specialist across the media landscape. He is working with ProPakistani.pk as Special Correspondent and has been a broadcast journalist for the last 20 years. He has extensively reported on Pakistan’s economy, telecom and power sectors, and on environmental issues. He is well travelled and have been on reporting assignments to the United States, India and Nepal. Faiz holds a master's degree in marketing from Preston University, Islamabad. He entered the Advertising industry with Manhattan Pakistan Limited (MPL). His wide-ranging experience includes working with Evernew Concepts, where he realized that his true passion was Journalism. He started his TV career with Telebiz as an anchor, where he hosted a daily business news show for PTV News in 2003-04, and a daily business and current affairs show at the prime-time slot of 10 PM on Waqt News, in 2011-12. He also hosted show Geo Mera Shehr on Geo News. He continued to scale heights, working as Senior Correspondent with Business Plus, APP, Geo News, Samaa, and Dunya News. Faiz has evolved as a communications specialist and has considerable experience of working in the development sector. His work encompasses Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), World Health Organization (WHO), USAID’s Jobs Project, Search for Common Ground (SFCG), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), ACT International and Higher Education Commission (HEC) as an independent Media and Communications Consultant, where he dealt with print, electronic and digital media, documenting project success stories, video documentary productions, and preparing project end reports. He also has three fellowships to his credit – Anadolu Agency Turkey’s Energy Reporting Fellowship 2018; One Belt One Road (OBOR) Fellowship at Renmin University Beijing, China, 2018; and Cross Border Fellowship for India and Pakistan in Kathmandu, Nepal, 2022 by East West Center. Another feather in his cap is the German Green Foundation (HBS) Environmental Reporting Award. Faiz is an avid reader and traveler and loves meaningful conversations.
