The University of Vermont's award-winning student newspaper, The Vermont Cynic has served as the independent student voice of the University and greater Burlington area for more than 130 years. The Cynic strives to be a strong, unbiased news outlet, reporting on current events that directly impact members of the UVM community in hopes of generating the exchange of ideas and discussion, and stimulating growth within our readers. The Cynic prints on a weekly basis, hitting stands every Wednesday. An integral part of the Burlington publishing community, The Cynic boasts a circulation of 5,000 copies on-campus and reaches various off-campus locations as well. Both editorial and business operations — each completely student-run, work together diligently to produce the newspaper each week.
