Indiana Daily Student

The Indiana Daily Student (IDS) is an independent, student-run newspaper that serves Indiana University's Bloomington campus and the surrounding community. Founded in 1867, the IDS operates under a charter that ensures its editorial independence. Managed by students, the publication focuses on campus news, sports, arts, and community events, primarily through its digital platforms. In 2024, the IDS transitioned to a digital-first model, discontinuing its print edition after 157 years. It publishes daily online content, including breaking news and multimedia features, while also serving as a training ground for student journalists. The IDS is overseen by a Student Media Board and maintains editorial autonomy, allowing student editors to make content decisions. It caters to IU Bloomington students, faculty, staff, local residents, and alumni interested in campus affairs. The IDS is recognized for its commitment to accurate and community-focused journalism.
