Biography
Reporter, media coordinator and online production editor for the Bristol Cable. Also write news and features for a range of publications on a freelance basis. Bylines include The Guardian, The Independent, Bristol 24/7, The Bristol Cable, University Business, Education Technology, Bristol Property Live, Latin Correspondent, Peru this Week, and Now Then. I graduated with a BA Hons. in Journalism (2:1) in 2006 and have lived in Spain, Greece, Peru, Portugal, and various locations around the UK since then, working in hospitality, support work, and education (the bills. They need to be paid), but always writing. Around year into my time in Peru I started working as Editor of Peru's largest English-language publication, Peru this Week. During my time there, I instigated media partnerships with various big events, set up a new publishing schedule and style guide, sourced new writers and photographers, coordinated the introduction of sponsored articles and the website redesign. It is in Bristol that I've finally found my feet in Journalism. A week's unpaid internship at Wildfire Comms got me into doing regular subbing and writing work for their various B2B education sector magazines. I was involved in writing and subbing Bristol 24/7's 2016 student guide, which got me into regularly writing for and subbing their sister publication, The Spark. I also spent a year and a half volunteering as a news anchor on BCfm's breakfast show, the One Love Breakfast. I'm now a reporter, media coordinator and online production editor for The Bristol Cable. I speak English and Spanish. My full CV and references are available on request.
