Times-Journal

The Fort Payne Times-Journal publishes twice weekly, distributed to the homes/businesses of subscribers and news rack customers each Wednesday and Saturday throughout the year. We also publish a monthly magazine called DeKalb Living and special sections throughout the year. Fort Payne is the county seat of DeKalb County in northeast Alabama. Our rich history as an early Cherokee settlement has been preserved for future generations to enjoy. It is hard to beat our combination of simple, small-town life, quality schools, diverse industry and popular attractions like the Little River Canyon National Preserve, DeSoto State Park, the Mentone mountain resort community, and the fan club/museum of country music superstars Alabama. Recreational opportunities surround us on all sides while fun big city getaways are just a short drive down the Interstate. We innovate in our state with adoption of the first all-electric school buses and vocational programs teaching high school students how to fly and repair drones, as just two recent examples. Our community is experiencing a tremendous boom as more and more people discover that Fort Payne offers the best of both worlds and is a fantastic place to build a life.
