The Link

The Link Minnesota is a non-profit organization focused on supporting youth and young families facing homelessness, sexual exploitation, and involvement in the juvenile justice system. Founded in 1991 by former Minnesota Vikings players Jim Marshall and Oscar Reed, The Link serves at-risk youth primarily in North Minneapolis and has expanded its reach throughout the Twin Cities area. The organization offers a variety of services through three main divisions. It provides emergency shelter and housing for youth experiencing homelessness, supportive services for those affected by sexual exploitation, and positive alternative programs for youth involved in the justice system. The Link serves over 2,000 youth and young families each year, with a strong emphasis on supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ youth. The organization engages with community leaders and partners to create empowering programs and relies on donations and fundraising efforts to sustain its initiatives.
