Growing up surrounded by technology and desperately searching for a connection with a human being is lonely. Until, you find that way to connect that changes everything, and for me, that was music. We all end up in the industry because we love music, but for me, it's more than just music. It's also about returning humanity to one of the purest art forms we have. Music is a form of human expression, so why must we make it so polished and pretty and perfect that it can be digestible and marketable? Why do people have to be made into an 'image'? Everyone has their story, and my goal as a journalist is to bring humanity back to the artists that we have so shamelessly begun to worship as if they're not human beings. And this is coming from a fangirl. So, I dig deep and search for the artist behind the art. I aim to ask questions that dive far below the surface, wanting to put together the pieces that the artist has left scattered throughout their work. And I do.
