Biography

I'm a former educator turned freelance journalist in 2001. Writing is my passion. I have published work in The Washington Post, Costco Connection, Woman's Day and hundreds of print and online media. I thrive when reporting on the nuts and bolts of healthcare, or writing helpful informative articles about recent healthcare issues and new technology and treatments. I was absent from my laptop for over a decade from 2011 to 2021 due to serious illness and disability. After surviving a life-threatening medical event in 2021, I regained enough strength to resuscitate my career last year. My recent work has appeared in Costco Connection, Capital & Main, the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation news, and I was recently approved to join The Washington Post Talent Network. It feels great to be back writing about critical healthcare topics, fun travel ideas, and interviewing interesting people again. Writing is somewhat of a catharsis because of various life events I've experienced over my 60 years on this planet. It makes me whole again now that I've returned to journalism.
