Jacob Powers is a former sports editor for Cal State Long Beach's Daily Forty-Niner newspaper. In a year and a half with the Forty-Niner, Powers covered breaking news, sports, shot photography and occasionally wrote in the opinions section. Powers has also freelanced for The Bold Italic, a Medium publication based in the Bay Area, on medical marijuana issues. He is looking to get into professional realm of sports coverage after previously covering the Orange Coast Empire league in junior college and the D1 Big West Division in the following: baseball, basketball, golf, waterpolo, and ice hockey.
