Biography

Jeniffer Solis is a general assignment reporter with the Nevada Current. Since starting her career as a full-time journalist four years ago, she’s won a first place award from the Nevada Press Association for Feature Writing, and contributed to election coverage that won a first place staff award from the Society of Professional Journalists — Las Vegas. She is also currently a 2023 University of Rhode Island Metcalf Fellow. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a degree in Journalism and Media Studies in December 2017. During her university days she worked as a senior staff writer for UNLV’s student paper, the Scarlet and Gray Free Press, and as a production assistant intern for KUNV Public Radio. Jeniffer’s main beats are the environment, Indigenous affairs, immigration, and the Nevada Legislature.
