Biography
I'm a freelance journalist and Columbia Journalism School Graduate (class of 2021) who has written for The New York Times, The Daily Beast, Vulture, and Mother Jones, among others. From 2017 to 2019, I was a staff writer at the opinion website The Daily Banter, where I covered politics and culture. Last year, I published my first book: The Deadwood Bible: A Lie Agreed Upon, a comprehensive history of HBO's Deadwood which I co-wrote with Vulture TV critic Matt Zoller Seitz. As an editorial assistant, I have researched, transcribed interviews, and fact-checked for hundreds of articles, primarily with New York Magazine/Vox Media, where I have worked for the past nine years. I have performed similar duties for several books on film, TV and politics, most recently American Psychosis: A Historical Investigation into How the Republican Party Went Crazy, by Mother Jones journalist David Corn. I have an MFA in dramaturgy (the study of theater history) from both Harvard and the Moscow Art Theater School (class of 2016) and a bachelors in Performance Studies from Northwestern University (class of 2012).
