Jessica Estepa is a storyteller and a self-described news junkie/social media butterfly based in the Washington, D.C., area. She is the senior campaign editor for CNN Politics, where she has overseen digital coverage of campaigns, elections and national politics since 2019. She last worked as a politics editor in USA TODAY's Washington bureau, overseeing breaking and trending news coverage. Prior to that, she served as the lead writer and editor of OnPolitics, USA TODAY's politics blog. Previous stints also include working as a digital editor and writer at USA TODAY, a senior digital producer at National Geographic, a reporter for E&E News and an editorial assistant for Roll Call. A native Nevadan -- born in Lake Tahoe, raised in Las Vegas, educated in Reno -- she attended the University of Nevada's Reynolds School of Journalism. Outside of work, Estepa sits on the board of Washington Revels, a nonprofit arts organization that she also regularly performs with, and she sings with the Capitol Hill Chorale. She lives in Alexandria with her family, where she can often be found knitting, baking, cooking and playing with her dog.
