Jesus R. Garcia was raised in the Tex-Mex region of South Texas along the border on a small family ranch. He grew up around animals and vintage vehicles and began his writing career as a student reporter for his university newspaper. After graduating in 2015 with a BA in Communications, Jesus joined and became the youngest member of the Texas Auto Writers Association. In 2016, he officially started writing automotive reviews and related news articles on his website, Jesusbehindthewheel.com. Since then, he's contributed work to The Drive, Motorious, IMBOLDN, The Gentleman Racer, Drivetribe, Hot Cars, and currently writes a weekly automotive column for the Houston Chronicle newspaper. In 2024, Jesus became the youngest and first Hispanic president of the Texas Motor Press Association. When Jesus isn't writing about cars, film, or various products, he spends his time as an illustrator for children's books and commissioned artwork.
