Biography

Jim Rendon is a freelance writer and author who covers business, science, design, the environment and plenty of other topics. He's gone cage diving with great white sharks, toured remote, ridge-top marijuana grows, visited maximum security prisons and mental institutions in pursuit of a story. He is the author of two books and his writing has appeared in The New York Times Magazine and newspaper, Wall Street Journal, Time, Mother Jones, Marie Claire, Fortune, Men's Journal, Outside, SmartMoney and other publications. His most recent book book, Upside: The New Science of Post-Traumatic Growth was published in 2015 by Touchstone to praise from The Washington Post, Scientific American Mind, Psychology Today and others. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. He is a former staff writer at SmartMoney magazine and Metro, Silicon Valley's Alternative Weekly.
